Suggest Treatment For Hair Loss And Sweaty Sticky Scalp
Question: we are a couple from the west the past few years have been living in XXXXXXX and Singapore and Malaysia - on the third week in Malaysia I experience hair entanglement which I never had before gradually it lead to massive hair fall with sweaty sticky scalp tried endless shampoos to no avail. soon developed parasite in digestive tract with bloating rectal itch and also skin itch daily getting worse- through ask a doctor from this same sight was advised Albendazole. since we as yet have not found a reliable doctor familiar with these issues we were given Zental- .feel better after a dose as prescribed. but the hair fall continues. its quite alarming . could you kindly advise to the issue.

I have gone through your query and I have taken note of your complaints.
Since you say that you experience hair entanglement therefore I would like to specifically know from you whether you are able to comb your hair or is it impossible to run comb through them? Are the hair matted together at the scalp?
How often do you shampoo?
Do you use any hair products like hair oil etc?
Can you upload a few photographs? it can be helpful
Regarding sticky sweaty scalp, it could be one of the reasons for hair entanglement as well as hair fall.
Sticky scalp is most commonly due to underlying seborrheic dermatitis with superimposed/secondary bacterial infection which causes oozing and crusting leading on to hair entanglement, matting and also hair breakage.
You may use a cetrimide 5% based shampoo. It is a decreasing as well as an antiseptic agent and therefore helps remove adherent sticky discharge and crusting.

To answer your questions: combing hair was near to impossible my husband helped come my hair, but once a week. until we changed water and used bottled water. I am able to comb my hair but yet hair is tangled something I never experienced ever. .
I shampooed every day with a mild lavender shampoo. but shampoo every 4-5 days since the hair troubles began. because we are unable to find a good shampoo as of yet, and the water is still part of the issue, all my husbands co workers from other countries even from XXXXXXX have the same experience.
I do not use oils on my hair. and I do not have lice.

we were able to track a 10% cetrimide shampoo online from uk .have not purchased yet. any specific suggestion would be appreciated.
found nizoral shampoo. have used it twice. scalp feels calmer and the stickiness and dampness mush less. but the scalp itch, and the hair fall still continues but a little less.
the prescribed dose for nizoral is only twice a week. I feel I need to keep the scalp clean. seeking your advice
just for your information, was administered zental for parasites in gi tract, skin itch. .

Nizoral is a good option. It contains 1% ketoconazole which is an effective antiseborrheic. I suggest you to use it every alternate days. Lather it well and leave it on scalp for 5 minutes before rinsing it off; rinse off well.
Cetrimide 10 % is a good option too. You may try it. It is also an antiseptic as well as antiseborrheic, therefore would get rid if stickiness.
I think the scalp itching and hair fall is a part of seborrheic dermatitis with possibly some superimposed bacterial infection as well; stickiness and dampness at the scalp skin is likely a result of these
I would also suggest a course of an oral antibiotic e.g either flucloxacillin Or cepahlexin for a week, for a possible superimposed bacterial infection and of scalp thus giving rise to sticky and damp feeling.
