Question: likelihood of gonorreah, took treatment 3 days before test. test came back negative for chlamydia. symptoms have persisted. no discharge. no green discharge. oral sex.

I thought, it woudl be a live chat. Had a 2 secs of fellatio. literally. within a few days got urehtritis. was pretty bad. i had levaquin and took a few tabs and on the third or fourth day had a urinalysis done and it came back negative for chlamydia and gonorrhea... would the levaquin have cured it in a few days? on going symptoms? Does most gonorrhea have discharge?

and what i meant is would the levaquin cure it (started on Tuesay) - and by saturday would it have cured? or is it more telling of NGU

Brief Answer:
STD urethritis is not common with giving felatio.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

Thanks for posting your query.

Gonorrhea has a florid manifestation with profuse discharge like pus.
When there is absence of discharge Gonorrhea unlikely. You had mentioned that test for Chlamydia came negative. The possibility of STD through felatio is rare. Yeast infection or Herpes are more common with Felatio.
You might have had a non-STD urinary infection. Get a culture and sensitivity test from urine or from the discharge. Appropriate antibiotics as per the out come of the results would clear you problem.
Levoquin is not very much effective for Gonorrhea whereas it would be a better choice for urinary tract infection.

Brief Answer:
Gonorrhea from a female to male in oral sex is rare.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Oral sex with a female and transmission of STDs from female to male is still more uncommon. I had seen two or three cases like that during my 30 years of STD practice.

Thank you for your response. For clarification, have you seen NGU? is it generally not gonorrhea and chlamydia?

and how soon after infection would you see the discharge?

and one follow up - gonorrhea is it mostly felt just when urinating or does it persist throughout. like, can you feel it all the time when you have it in your penile shaft. sharp pain inside the middle of it.

Brief Answer:
In NGU symptoms appear after 3 weeks after infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

Urethritis through sexual transmission other than Gonorrhea is NGU only, including Chlamydia. I used to have more number of NGU than Gonorrheal urethritis. But it rarely differentiated the same, whether due to chlamydia or other organism as it is not going to alter the treatment much. Moreover the facilities to isolate other organism are not available widely.

In Gonococcal urethritis symptoms would manifest within 5 days whereas in NGU, it will take not less than 3 weeks.

In gonorrhea, if not manipulated with antibiotics (prophylaxis), the symptoms persists all the time till it gets treated soiling the inner wear and profuse.
Pain under the shaft of penis and during erection is common with Gonorrhea and to a lesser extent in NGU.

Get well soon.
