Question: Hi I am XXXXX. My mother age 60 yrs having glaucoma since 8 years. Presently she is using Azopt & Ganfort eye drops. She has a complaint of watering in eyes.
My question is What is the best for glaucoma? Operation or Eye drops? which are the best eye drops? Who is the best doctor for Glaucoma in India? what is the reason for watering in eyes?

What is her vision, iop reading and field examination status.If her vision is maintained,Iop is around 15,which should be the target pressure and field charting in follow up does not show any deterioration then she can continue with medication treatment.
If prssure,vision or field show any deterioration, then only surgery can be indicated. Also if dug compliance is not proper.
Please send me details of vision iop and field charting to get an idea as to how well she is controlled by medication. If she is well controlled by medication then surgery is to be avoided as surgery has it's own quota of communications
