Brief Answer:
Need more information

Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you for writing to HCM .

Based on the information that you have provided " gap in the ear bones" along with clicking sound while chewing sounds like the problem is around the temporomandibular joint front of the ear. Problems of this joint are generally treatable so I am not sure of what is the reason provided to you for this not being treatable.

It may also be possible that there may be an issue with the bones inside the ear for which I will need to take a look at the hearing test report and the CT scan of the temporal bone. Please have these tests taken and reported. If you have the reports already then do share it with me so that I can provide you with a more specific answer.

Also it will be useful if you can share with me the complaints that your mother has. Does she have hearing loss or ear pai or any ear discharge. Also if she has any blocked nose or sneezing or runny nose. Any history of fever etc. This information will be useful to help me answer your questions.

Kindly do share this information with me so that I can provide an opinion for the management of your mother's condition.
