Brief Answer:
Surgery is the only option in gallstones.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for sharing your concern for your mother.

In case of gallbladder stone there is only one definite treatment that is surgical removal of gallbladder.

For control of diabetes three things are important.

1.Diet control
2.Medicines
3.Exercise.

Combination all of this is important.

Ask her to take diet as advised and do regular exercise.

If your surgeon thinks doing surgery is urgent, diabetes can be very well controlled with injections of insulin before and after surgery for time being. Later on after recovery she can be put back on medicines.

So uncontrolled diabetes should not a be major problem is she is otherwise fit as you have written.

I hope this helps and clarifies your concern.

Regards,

Dr.Pragnesh
