Question: I went to the doctor for red raw skin between my thigh and scrotum. She tild me it was not herpes and a yeast infection. Can she be certain without testing?

I was prescribed clotrimazole and the skin is starting to heel. It gets irritatwd when the seams of my boxer briefs rub up against it. Does this appear to be herpes? The pics are zoomed up close

Hello, Sir.

I can certainly understand your concerns.

Yes, this seems to be a probable fungal infection, most likely to be an yeast infection.

You can rely upon your doctor's impression

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
This isn't herpes

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I can certainly understand your concerns.

I apologize for the delayed response owing to my work schedule.

I have worked through your query detail.

I could not find the attached pictures.

Kindly upload them on the Upload image box.

This seems to be a clear cut fungal infection- Tinea Cruris.

Avoid wearing under garment until the skin lesions completely resolve.

Along with clotrimazole, you need oral pills of Fluconazole for 3 days.

Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these medications to you.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
