Posted on Mon, 16 Nov 2015
Question: My boyfriend has a large keloid on his chest, @ 3 inches long and 3 inches wide. It always has several areas in it that are open and oozing pus, it smells horrible. What can be done about this? Nothing works. ACV, a small surgery, etc.

Brief Answer:
surgery/antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The bad odor indicates infection. If he has not been on antibiotics then that needs to be tried. If antibiotics does not clear it up then another surgery to clean out the infection could be tried. The ACV and baking soda are unlikely to work. This sound like an infection that needs to be treated with broad spectrum and possibly an extensive surgery. Letting an infection in the skin remain untreated may cause a more serious infection or even a blood infection. If his regular doctors can not get this cleared up please try to get him to an infectious disease specialist for treatment. Regards.
