Brief Answer:
Should not take Augmentin as first choice.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for folliculitis. In simple folliculitis it is not justifiable to take Augmentin as first line of antibiotic to be taken orally.

Folliculitis is simple inflammation of the hair roots and oil glands attached to it. Majority of this kind of condition gets better by itself. Only in certain cases we require topical or Iraq antibiotic. It is better to apply Mupirocin or fucidin cream as topical antibiotic. For oral administration if required for a spreading or recurrent folliculitis I prefer to give cefadroxil 500mg as first line of antibiotic.

Augmentin being higher antibiotic so in case if it is required in future for any important infection would be less effective.

I suggest you to not to pinch or pop or squeeze any area. Maintain a good hygiene and take two times bath. Avoid direct sunlight and heat or humidity. Change your garments for two times and wear cotton undergarments and lose clothes.

I hope this helps.
