Question: i am taking tazloc 40 in the mrng and amplopedine 5 in the night since a year.
my BP was normal at 130/80.
However of late I hv got swelling in my both feet and my family dr asked me to stop Amlopidine
and my feet are now normal
But my BP has started fluctuating between 160/100 to 130/80
can you suggest alternate medicine to Amlopidine 5mg so that my BP remains normal and i dont get swelling on my both feet ?
all my Blood reports are absolutely normal
No other problem but taking Sensival 25 mg in the mrng for anxiety since last 45 days alongwith Tazloc 40 for BP problem
My sleeo is full of dreams whole night always the main reason for BP
Bp is high on Bad dreams and normal on good dreams
A year back i was taking Tozar 25 for almost 14 years and i was having normal BP
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Cilnidipine or metaprolol will be helpful instead of Amlodipine.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM

I have gone through your query. You may need to add 1 more medication instead of Amlodipine. Cilnidipine or Metaprolol is suitable for this. If you have palpitations and stress/anxiety then Metaprolol is most suitable. This may also helps you to get good sleep. Cilnidipine is calcium channel blocker like Amlodipine but doesn't have side effect of getting edema on legs. You can ask your treating doctor for this.
Breathing exercises will be helpful to relieve any stress or anxiety. Sit relaxed and take deep breaths. Brisk walking daily is also good.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
