Question: My daughter who is 10 months old is having a sort of boil all over her body. It starts as a small red spot and then swells into a boil with puss inside.
What could be the reason for this and what is the medication required?
She had fever for last four days and we had given P125. as prescribed by doc.
I'm staying in cochin and the climate here is pleasent and humid with occasional rain.
I'm attaching some photos for reference.

Brief Answer:
Your child seems to have a Staphylococcal infection.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through the details and have checked the attached images. It seems that your child has got a bacterial infection. The causative agent is likely to be a bacteria called Staphylococcus. The associated fever is likely to be due to this infection and the underlying condition needs to be treated.

Treatment would consist of two parts.
* Application of topical antibacterials like T-Bact Ointment (mupirocin).
* Oral antibiotics like amoxicillin twice or thrice a day for 5-7 days. Since the boils are all over the body, this is very important.

Continue to give P-125 as and when required. Also give tepid sponging.

Let me know if I could be of further help.

Regards
