Brief Answer:
If there is no associated fever then there is no cause for concern

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms

As your son had febrile seizure , it could recurrence again . The aim of treatment is to rapidly bring down the body temperature back to normal whenever the child starts to have fever from any cause.

Respiratory tract infection is quite common and one of the commonest cause of Fever . It is important to look for temperature regularly, atleast once in every 2 hours. If the temperature is above 99°F , I would suggest you the following

1. Give him Paracetamol (Tylenol ) syrup in dosage of 15 mg per kilogram per dose .

2. Whole body tepid sponging : use a cloth soaked in normal tap water and wipe the whole body thoroughly with it 2 to 3 times 15 to 20 minutes after giving Tylenol.

The above procedure will definitely bring down the body temperature. If the fever still persist you can use Motrin.

As you son is having only cold without associated fever there is no cause for concern. I would suggest you the following

1. Decongestant cough syrup can be given

2. Look for body temperature every 2 hour

Do consult your physician during your next routine visit.
