•Lightheadedness means you are about to faint though your surroundings aren't moving
•Vertigo is a feeling that you or your surroundings are moving when there is no actual movement by you.

Pre syncope/syncope requires a cardiac workup whereas vertigo requires a neurological workup.

temporary drop in blood pressure occurs when you get up too quickly from a seated or lying position (orthostatic hypotension) and it is the most common cause of a single / isolated incident with rapid recovery normally within seconds.

Blood pressure and metabolic profile including Blood sugar and electrolytes needs to be checked. Assessment should be done w.r.t history of any sedatives or other medications that can have adverse effects causing dizziness.

In case of vertigo you may empirically take betahistine dihydrochloride 16 mg or prochlorperazine for symptomatic relief.

You may ask a family member or friend to accompany you to a nearby hospital E.R to rule out any serious cause , first.

Based on the history which you described, the vertigo seems to be peripheral.

This however requires clinical confirmation to differentiate between central and peripheral vertigo mainly via looking for Nystagmus, Neighbourhood signs ( Diplopia, dysarthria etc) and by looking for hearing loss and tinnitus.

Meclizine and betahistine dihydrochloride are better options then stematil (prochlorperazine ) for vertigo. Please consult a neurologist to confirm the suspicion and initiate the appropriate treatment.
