Suggest Treatment For Excessive Sleepiness

Question: Hi.. I'm XXXX, a 86 year old male.. Good health generally now, but have problem with excessive sleepiness. Have been taking Modafinil in the AM for several years, but it dosn't seem to work anymore. Not really awake until about 3pm, then I'm ready to sleep for the night about 10:30 and sleep quite well, except for potty trips, until 7:30.. By 9 I'm ready to go bed! Can't get anything done until after 3pm. Need something different that'll work! What would you suggest??

The drug is is a central nervous system and metabolic stimulant and is used both recreationally and medically to reduce physical fatigue and to restore alertness when drowsiness occurs. It produces increased wakefulness, faster and clearer flow of thought, increased focus, and better general body coordination. Effects begin less than an hour after consumption, and a moderate dose usually wears off in about five hours.

Caffeine has a number of effects on sleep, but does not affect all people in the same way.
Caffeine is a natural component of chocolate, coffee and tea, and is added to colas and energy drinks.
