Suggest Treatment For Erectile Dysfunction

Question: Iam 50 yrs old , i have ED problems , i was taking siledenafil (100mg ) on and off since last 2 years and they were working great , but now it does not seem to be working , i am in really good health condition except i have anxiety and depression problems which are in remission with drugs , although at the moment iam not taking any medication except normaxin which i take once in a way , i visited a urologist a year ago he wanted me to try paxil which i did not want to as i had already come off it , he said the next option would be to try Penile MUSE or caverject injections , but he said these are not available in india , but i was surfing the web and found the injections are available , but could not find the muse , Doctor can you pls advise how safe these are , are these medicines avialable in india ,and at my age can i use them safely 2-3 times a week

Brief Answer: Medications available in selected Medical stores Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have problem of Erectile Dysfunction and were taking Sidenafil 100 mg on demand since 2 years and have noticed that these drugs are no more effective in achieving erection to your satisfaction. I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem. 1) Have you consulted any urologist specialised in sexual medicine ? 2) Have you done colour Doppler ultrasound scan of penis to fine out the cause of your ED especially whether it is due to arterial insufficiency or due to venous leak,? As regards your query for using Penile Injection therapy for Ed you have to consult Sexologist to titrate the dose of medicine that is commonly used (Trimix) and to learn how to take injection yourself.This injection has few complications like formation of scar at the site of injection ,pain ,bleeding etc .and Priapism in some patients . Muse (Alprostadil )pellets which is injected in urethra is not available in India . You can certainly try penile injection of Trimix under guidance of a qualified sexologist specialised in this field . Thank you doctor for your detailed reply , To your query No1 -No i have not consulted any urologist recently , 2 -these tests you mention are they noninvasive i will try and get these tests and revert to you again for your advice

Brief Answer: These Tests are non Invasive Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for feedback Doppler Scan of Penis is done before and after giving injection PGE1 to study the penile circulation and to know whether your Ed is due Arterial Insufficiency or due to venous leak .
