Suggest Treatment For Erectile Dysfunction When Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer

Posted on Tue, 22 Nov 2016
Question: I am using trimix for erectile dysfunction due to prostate cancer.

My doctor has said to draw up a solution with a thicker needle. Then switch to the finer 30 gauge needle for injection.

My question is why do I need to go through these two steps. Cant I draw the solution with the 30 gauge needle? The two steps sometimes mess me up.

many thanka XXXX

Brief Answer:
Takes long to draw through thin needle

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Trimix is a compound which is slightly thick to draw well through a thin needle like a 30 G. Also the act of drawing the injection mixture might make the time needle tip blunt. These thin needles
are more useful for self injection. The fine tip ensures minimal trauma. Hopefully this will reduce chances of fibrosis which unfortunately is quite common in most patients who self inject using a thick needle. This will reduce efficacy and might make you turn to alternate modes if treatment like a penile prosthesis.
Hope I have been of help.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
Welcome anytime

Detailed Answer:
Welcome anytime. There are other options like vacuum erection devices, by the way, but I feel you are likely to do just fine with Trimix.
All the best.
