Question: Hi - i'm 73 and lik many old guys i have an enlarged prostate -- nothing major. But over the last four days i've noticed tiny amounts of blood in my urine. Or, to be precise, little pink stains in my shorts. But it has to be blood. What should i do?

Brief Answer:
Review Ultrasound and Serum PSA

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the query.

You have enlarged prostate and it seems it is increasing in size as time pass. YOu should get a review Ultrasound of the prostate, checking size and serum PSA levels again. This should be annual process.
Prostate is highly vascular (bloody) and as it enlarges the capillaries would be broken and blood oozes out into the urethra and thus into the urine.
I suggest as above.
