Suggest Treatment For Edema In The Legs

default
Posted on Tue, 4 Oct 2016
Question: Yes. I had a DVT in my left leg August 6. Now I'm taking Coumadin. Before the clot I had/have edema in my legs. I also have a dormant kidney disease, IGA nephropothy, that damaged my kidneys 50 or so years ago. Today both legs are swollen, with the left one swollen more, and are red. Not a dark red though. There is little pain, which is normal. My wife wants me to go the the ER. I just think it is normal for right now. thanks, XXXX

Brief Answer:
Possible new DVT? Requires ruling out.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Sir

I can certainly understand your concern

As per your symptoms, the possibility of new DVT is high.Hence it is very important to rule it out.

For this I advise you to get a duplex ultrasound of the involved limb at the earliest.

It's important to go to ER and get the required medical attention.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
