Suggest Treatment For Dysplastic Nevia On The Scrotal Area

default
Posted on Mon, 16 Mar 2015
Question: My 23-year-old son has been diagnosed with a dysplatic nevia on one of his testes. He's been told to have it removed. I would like to know about the surgery. Is it especially painful because of the location? Is it day surgery? Will he have to take a few days off work? Thank you very much for your help.

Brief Answer:
Dysplastic Nevi can be removed easily.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the dysplastic never on the scrotal area of your son.

It is a rule that all the dysplastic Nevi should always be removed. For that it is simply excised either by a shave excision or punch excision.

Over the Scrotal area we prefer to do shave excision. Only a single or just two stiches are given which are also removed in 5 days of period.

There is no need to take any rest and the person can go to work right away. The scrotal area has good blood supply so this heals quite fast.

There is no pain as a local anesthetic is given before the excision.

I reassure you fully that it is very simple and routinely done procedure without any problem.

I hope these informations will relax you.
