Question: Hi I am 24, XXXXXXX I was circumcised when I was 9 years old. I've observed dryness, wrinkles and dark (kind of tiny ridges ) lines on my glans( as you can see in the pictures attached) for many years now and I find it very frustrating. Kindly please suggest me how do I make it look normal. I'm not worried about the glans sensitivity issue. Thank you very much!

Brief Answer:
Dry skin

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You are concerned about dry skin and discoloration on the glans of your penis. The pictures show the discoloration. This is probably due to sensitive skin and may need extra moisturizes to the glans. i would first recommend an over the counter skin cream and if that did not help then topical hydrocortisone. I would also recommend switching your soap to a hypoallergenic soap. I may go as far as also changing the detergent you use to wash your under garments as you may have allergy to it.

In summary
1. OTC skin moisturizer
2. Hydrocortisone
3. use hypoallergenic soap
4. Change detergents to milder type

Thank you so much for the advice! Besides the discoloration I am much worried about those minuscule projecting patches of hardened matter/ dry skin/ dead cells(probably) over my glans. (you could see in the second picture)
A suggestion on getting rid of them in particular, would help me a lot.
I read about something called 'sensorslip' that covers the penis and glans much like a condom does. Is it recommended to use to prevent further damage?

Lastly, since I was already using XXXXXXX Butter, please suggest me which skin moisturizer would be good to use.

Thanks again!

Brief Answer:
use hydrocortisone

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for returning to HCM

The dry encrustation is the dermatitis and will go away once you stop the overall irritation. Since you are already using XXXXXXX butter (a skin moisturizer) and it it not helping I recommend starting the hydrocortisone cream right away.

Senslip is an artificial foreskin that may protect the glans from rubbing against clothing. I see no problem with using this device. I agree that the reason for your irritation is possibly from the clothes rubbing on you penis. So go ahead and try it.

Sure I will.
Can I apply it all around the glans?
Please mention the dosage or frequency of Hydrocortisone use. I read that it should be used with precautions and might bear side effects other-wise.
kindly let me know how long should I leave it once applied.

Thank you very much!
