Question: I am trying to conceive but my periods fluctuate between 28 and 31 days. sometimes my period can be up to 34 days. I have been investigated thoroughly and I have no pcos all bloods and everything are normal. can I conceive naturally please

I am trying to conceive and have been for 6 months. I have had all blood tests and ultrasound scan all is normal. I have seen a fertility specialist he wont start any kind of fertility treatment until my BMI is 35. My BMI.is currently 40 so I am trying my best to lose weight. I am 40 years of age and worry I will never be a mum. I have started having mild pink bleeding around day 14-17 of my cycle this is unusual for me. My consultant isnt worried and says relax and I will get pregnant naturally. Husbands sperm count is also fine. Do you see I conceive and how do I know I definitely ovulate? I have bought a clearblue fertility monitor which only ever shows low and high fertility and never a peak.

. My consultant says I do ovulate and to ignore ovulaation tests as it causes more stress. What are your houghts please? All I want is to be a mum and I am gettingt very depressed and upset about things.

my cycles have been 27 and 28 days for the past 5 months I am.on day e2 this month no sign of oeriod and not pregnant what is wrong with me pllease

Brief Answer:
Do not take stress

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
If your cycles are regular, and the tests of both the partners are normal, then chances of normal conception are there.
Moreover, mid cycle spotting is due to ovulation, therefore ovulation is occurring normally in your case.
Increased BMI and stress can lead to hormonal disturbances in the body and hence leads to difficulty in conceiving.
There are high chances that you can conceive normally, but you should try to keep stress levels at minimum and loose weight to bring down the BMI.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Brief Answer:
Repeat pregnancy test after one week

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Delayed periods can be due to pregnancy, stress or hormonal disturbances.
If the urine pregnancy test done is negative, then the pregnancy is ruled out.
I will suggest you to wait for a week for the periods.
If it do not occur in one week, then repeat the urine pregnancy test in one week as sometimes the conception is delayed, and hence the pregnancy test is positive a bit delayed.
If the hormonal values are normal, then the menopause is unlikely.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
