Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea And Extreme Fatigue

Question: I have had some diaherra, an upset stomach, no energy and am having a hard time getting anything done. I think I may have had a slight case of food poisoning on Tuesday but am not getting my energy back.

I appreciate your concern

With diarrhea, electrolyte imbalance is a common complication. Normally, administration of isotonic fluids orally and in severe cases intravenously, solves the problem. However, if the dehydration or electrolyte imbalance is not addressed properly then lethargy and lack of energy can occur. This is especially common with low potassium / hypokalemia. The infective agent/cause, if present should be treated with antibiotics in case its bacterial. Electrolyte levels can be done and corrected accordingly in consult with your doctor. In the meanwhile, take adequate isotonic fluids solution like ORS.
