Brief Answer:
not likely side effect

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mrs. XXXX,

Thanks for writing to us.

Fluvoxamine is SSRI and helpful in OCD. It also helps in depression. So less likely lowness is side effect of the same.
Sizopin 25 mg half tablet thrice a day for psychotic features is also low dose and probably it can not cause such side effect.
However any drug can cause any side effect, we need to correlate the same with onset of side effect and time when drug was given.

- Please let me know since when is he taking these medicines and when his complaints of lowness began?
- For which psychotic symptoms he was given sizopin?

I will be happy to help further.
Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.

Brief Answer:
keep continuous follow up with psychiatrist

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Sorry for delayed response.

He is on medicines since more than 4 years. Less likely possibility of lowness is side effect of drugs.

Very high expectation from himself and lack of connectivity to the friends suggest possibilities of following differential diagnosis which needs to be keep in mind with diagnosis of OCD with depression.

1. Onset of schizophrenia. Probably considering this possibility in mind his doctor has prescribed sizopin.

2. Obsessive–compulsive personality disorder (OCPD). To diagnose personality disorder many sessions with patient, detail history from parents and psychological testings are required.

3. Schizoid personality disorder (SPD). His lack of interest in talking with others leads to think abit possibility of this diagnosis.

He needs counselling and psychotherapy also apart from medicines if he is convinced for the same.

I request you to continue regular follow up with his psychiatrist to prevent major problem.

Feel free to discuss further.
