Question: I'm a 70 yr old male in good health and had my flu shot in November. Came down with a flu bug last week with a temp of 102 for several days. After six days I'm much improved but today I'm seeing dark specs or floaters in my right eye. I've been medicating with Nyquil and night and Tylenol Sinus+Headache . Will these floaters past or do I need to see a doctor--ty

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

You need to see an ophthalmologist. Inflammation, bleeding, retinal detachment need to be excluded. Floaters are commonly related to age related changes due to clumpy vitreous fluid that projects as floaters and are harmless. However, as these are new onset floaters and weren't present before, so they should be taken seriously and promptly investigated.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
