Suggest Treatment For Cough When Recovering From Pneumonia
Question: Hello,
I'm currently recovering from pneumonia, it's been two weeks since diagnosed. I completed my 5 day zpac and still struggle with cough and lack of energy. We are slated to take a 2.5 hour flight to GA for Christmas (leaving Christmas Eve), is it safe for me to fly? If so what precautions can I take to protect myself (and others!). I'm pretty sure I had bacterial pneumonia. Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Wear a Face Mask during the flight....
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
In pneumonia total recovery occurs in 20-25 days.
So no need to worry much as you already told that you are recovering. Cough and lack of energy will gradually subside.
In flight I advice you to wear face mask.
This will protect you from environmental infection. And this will also protect others from droplet infection (produced by your coughing).
And yes, it is safe to fly as you are recovering.
Avoid fasting and drink plenty of fluids.
No need to worry much. You can definitely fly with face mask.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
