Suggest Treatment For Cough In An Infant
Question: Hi I have a 4 month old baby girl with a cough she got probably from Daddy being sick with a virus in the last week. We went to the pedatrician already two days ago and was told she is in good condition, but I feel really bad about what to do? Is there any safe remedy to give an infant child for relief?

Dear the infant at this age tends to have viral cough and even fever because his body has no old antibodies to new infections for fighting with the infection.Thats why infants tend to get infected with minor viral infections and until body recognizes new infection to develop antibodies to fight ;they may get fever,cough and cold due to chemical changes in body.
The reason not to give medicines is to avoid unnecessarily new ingredients in infant body as it can subsides on its own naturaly.
Since till at least six months only breast feed is recommended.Until and unless there is serious infection or chest sounds or breathlessness.
I would not recommend any remedy to avoid unnecessarily stomach problems.If in case cough worsen and fever comes then he may need antibiotic with cough medicines.
