Brief Answer:
Quit smoking as soon as possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion you were having viral upper respiratory tract infection (URTI).
It is very common in smokers due to poor defense because of cigarette smoke.
Delayed recovery is expected in smokers due to constant smoke induced irritation.
So, in your case, your symptoms like throat irritation, not able to clear throat completely etc are mostly due to smoke induced irritation.
So better to quit smoking as soon as possible.
This will mostly solve your problem.
If still you are symptomatic then consult ENT doctor for detailed throat examination.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.

I am lookng forward to quit smoking very seriously. My family doctor has advised me to take lezynpet tablet for a week.
The sensation in my throat is extremely minimal. how long should I wait before meeting a ENT specialist ? can I wait for another week take tablets without smoking ? and see the results ?

Wait for 2-3 weeks after quitting smoking.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
You should wait for at least 2-3 weeks after quitting smoking and if your throat symptoms are still persisting then consult ENT doctor for throat examination.
And please let me know
1. Which is this drug, lazynpet? Is it Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)?
2. Since how many years you are smoking?
3. Have you ever tried smoking cessation?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you further about NRT. NRT will ease your cessation.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
