Question: I am a 58 year old female and have had a fever over 100 degrees for 3 days. How long should I wait to see a doctor?

Dear Ms, fever most probably is a sign of infection.. infection could be viral or bacterial. viral infection is self limited and will resolve on its own. bacterial infection requires an antibiotic. you should take ibuprofen tablets 200 mg every 8 hours or acetaminophen to relieve the fever. wait for another 1 or 2 days if fever did not resolve then see a doctor.
