Brief Answer:
try expectorant

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Usually cold and cough is viral in nature and may last a week.
Dont worry. In your child's case your doctor has given antibiotics as he has found evidence for bacterial infection.
This may last more than a week.
Continue the medicines given to you.
I would suggest that you can give expectorant like mucolite syrup.
I prescribe around 3ml three times daily.
This will help in reducing your child symptoms.
If symptoms persist better to consult your doctor again.
Wishing your child good health
Regards
Dr Arun
