Suggest Treatment For Cold, Cough, Chest Congestion And Runny Nose

Question: My 7month old son is suffering from much cold and cough even water is coming from nose and looks like his chest is blocked with cough. We have given him ambrodyl-s syp and visyneral syp with doctor advice but no effect. Can you please suggest best treatment for him so that he gets relief asap. Any home treatment or medicines.

Hi, thanks for writing to us.
As going by the symptoms you have suggested, I feel your child has lower respiratory tract infection,that s the reason he is not showing improvement with symptomatic treatment with ambrodyl s. My suggestion is that you re visit your doctor for re examination and may be he ll require antibiotics as well.
Till then you can use saline nasal drops in the nostrils to clear his nose of the mucous and make him breathe with ease.
Suggesting appropriate treatment for these conditions over the net without proper examination will not be fruitful.
