Brief Answer:
most likely viral influenza, follow the advises..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, Welcome to HCM,

I've gone through your query and understand your concern for your your baby..

Yes, as per the symptoms it's most likely viral influenza..first of all, keep the baby in protected environment away from monsoon winds..

Viral infections of upper respiratory tract are generally self-limiting, so it should subside within 3-5 days..

Yes you can give Relent syrup 2 ml twice daily for next 2-3 days..

If temperature goes above 100 degree fahrenheit, then you need to give Paracetamol to reduce fever, so you can keep Paracetamol Oral suspension, measure the baby's weight and just give as per direction provided along with it accordingly..

Please give steam inhalation 3 to 4 times a day for next few days as it'll act as mucolytic and provide soothing effects to the baby..

Maintain good hydration, let the baby have warm liquids like soups, porridge etc.

If fever doesn't subside or symptoms persist/ increase beyond 3 days, then i'll strongly suggest you to get the baby checked up by a pediatrician, as well as may need to consider a few investigations as per the findings(most importantly tropical illness like Dengue, chikungunya etc.)..

Let me know if there's any further queries, i'll be glad to clarify..

Thank you Doctor. We also visited pediatrician & he suggested Ambrodil S & MefaNorm Syrup. We started that dose since last night but still she was uncomfortable while sleeping due to blocked nose and sour throat. She was waking up every 15 minutes. Do we have to wait another day to get cold in control with this prescribed syrup or you would suggest any other syrup to treat blocked nose.

Thanks
XXXX

Brief Answer:
follow as already advised..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, Welcome back,

Yes this should do it, continue these medications and give another day or two ..

Like I've already mentioned, Please give steam inhalation 3 to 4 times a day for next few days as it'll act as mucolytic and provide soothing effects to the baby by opening up the respiratory passages and blockade..

No need to be too aggressive over these symptoms, give the medicines a while to take effect..

Follow all other advises as I've already mentioned previously..

Let Me know if there's any further queries..

Take Care
Kind Regards
