Brief Answer:
Use antacids

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns but don't worry. The most likely reason for such complaints in toddlers is a self limiting viral infection. These are self limiting and improve within a few days with symptomatic management. Antibiotics if given for suspected bacterial infection should be given for complete duration. But kids often have associated gastritis with antibiotics which can be the reason for your son's uneasiness, anorexia and irritability. Also, Hicet may give such side effects.

So I would suggest you to start him on antacids such as Syp. Digene (5 ml twice daily) or T. Lanzol junior (15mg once before breakfast). Hold hicet and start Syp. Maxtra or Syp T minic for cough and cold relief.

Give warm oral fluids such as warm soups, water, milk along with healthy diet. Give small and more frequent offerings instead of large meals every 3-4 hours.

Hopefully it will be of help. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.
Take care

Brief Answer:
Yes, it will help in cough and congestion

Detailed Answer:
Hi
T minic can be given as 2.5 ml thrice daily for symptomatic relief of cough and cold. Do not give higher dose as it also has sedative action.
