Question: my husband has recently been diagnosed with depression and dementia and has had constipation problems for years. It seems to be increased. We are trying mirolax, Senokot-S and Colace all to no avail. He is worried about using too many glycerin suppositories, is there a problem with this? YYYY@YYYY

Brief Answer:
Constipation

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your question on HCM

I do understand your pain and discomforts

As per your question you want to know if there is any problem in using too many glycerin suppositories, i may say that there is no problem at all and you should know that glycerin suppositories are a hyper osmotic laxative. It works by irritating the lining of the intestine and increasing the amount of fluid, making it easier for stools to pass. So if it helps him for constipation then he can take it without any side effects but root cause of constipation should be evaluated by your treating doctor by clinical examinations only.

Hope you got your point

Thanks
