Suggest Treatment For Cholinergic Urticaria

default
Posted on Mon, 15 May 2017
Question: I am a 27 year fairly healthy maybe a little overweight.

My question is for a skin specialist dermatologist. Preferably a different dermatologist and not Dr Jasmeet as she has already given a opinion.

My blood tests are all ok. Full bc, esr kidney liver, corrected calcium, phosphorus levels all ok. esr is 2mm/hr

I have had consultation from 2 doctors belive it or not my primary care GP has disregarded this condition as not being liverdo reticularis.

My symptoms are on the right side when im playing squash i can see it a lot more the redness i dont know if it is linked to anxiety but there is some itchyness or burning.

Once again my primary care GP, and also a private doctor has said its noThing to worry about and primary doctor said it looks like a pigmented partch or blood vessels under skin.

I have uploaded a pics for you

Brief Answer:
Cholinergic urticaria most likely

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the photographs.

I can see slight redness on your hand.
You have developed cholinergic urticaria most likely.

It is a condition where a person develops redness on skin whenever there is sweating or any type of exercise.

It is a very mild and common thing.
Usually, it is associated with itching but sometimes can present only with redness.
You don't need to worry about this.

You can take an antihistamine tablet like cetirizine to control this but it is not must. An antihistamine can only control the symptoms but cannot cure it.

As it is not going to harm you in any way you can just ignore this.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.

Thank you.

Ok

Can you let me know what the net pattern indicates in the hand. It is nothing like liverdo is it?

Its once again only visible in lighting. Purple colour once again mild.

All blood tests are ok. Havent got my thyroid checked but Parathyroid ok as all calcium levels are all ok. So doctor goes no need for further tests

Not Livedo

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the follow-up and photograph.
Livedo reticularis presents with net like pattern which gets aggravated by heat but the rashes are always present.

The area, mainly involved in livedo, is legs.
In your case hands are mainly involved and that too lesions appear only on physical work.
Just relax it is not livedo.
