Suggest Treatment For Chicken Bone Stuck In The Throat

default
Posted on Sat, 12 Nov 2016
Question: I had a small piece of chicken bone lodged in my throat last night. Went to ER, they were about to do a procedure in the Endoscopy Unit, when suddenly, I got nauseous and vomited. It felt better, as though the bone had come up, but today, I feel like something is still 'stuck there'. Not as bad as last night, but like something thick is stuck just around the adam's apple area, and having a lot of acid reflux too. Usually, if I get acid reflux, it's at night, laying down.

Brief Answer:
It may be a wound of the esophagus.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

Thank you for the query.

When something stuck in the esophagus after it removal usually some kind of wound appears. So most likely you have such thing in the esophagus causing the symptoms.
If so, you should feel a few seconds relief while swallowing water or another liquid (not warm).

If swallowing does not help, gastroscopy should be done. If it helps, you may wait few days as it should go away.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
