Question: nonobstructing 10 x9 x6 mm calculus of the mid to upper pole of the right kidney......What does this mean? What treatment is needed?

Based on the ultrasoun Scanning you have been detected to have non Obstructing Calculus of a size of 10x9x6 mm in upper pole of Right Kidney .

Non Obstructing calculus means the calculus is not obstructing flow of urine from the calyx in to Renal Pelvis .

The best treatment option for such calculus is to fragment the calculus by non invasive procedure called Extra Corporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL)

This is rewarding procedure which is carried out as out patient procedure and does not require either hospitalization or anesthesia .
