Brief Answer:
Considerations.

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

Omeprazole is a very good medication for decreasing the amount of acid secretion in the stomach which can contribute to belching and burping as well as irritation of the esophagus.

In your case if you are having symptoms later on in the evening I would suggest that you consider taking the medication twice daily.

could try this for a couple of weeks to see if you get a good amount of interval improvement of your symptoms. After that. Time to go back to taking it once daily.

It is also important that you follow up with your primary care doctor to discuss further management which might include endoscopy where a doctor will take a look inside your esophagus and stomach with the camera.

Thank you again for sending the question.

Sincerely,

Dr Galamaga

thank. I did have endoscopy, and that is how I found about esophagitis. I will increase the omeprazole to c if that helps. I also feel so full fast and feel miserable after eating. maybe I shouldn't eat as much

Hello again.

You could start by eating smaller more frequent meals and this may help.

Try the omeprazole twice daily for a while and hopefully you will gradually feel better.
