Question: What is the better way to treat and repair a broken femur bone on a 65 year old male. Putting a plate on the outside of the bone with screws. Or placing a metal rod inside of bone. Thank you

Placing a metal rod inside the bone is a better option in case it is a transverse fracture. If it is an oblique fracture then plate and screws is a better option for fixation. The insertion of rod involves lesser soft tissue resection and earlier wound healing.
