Question: My wife has been sick with flu symptoms for two days. Weak, tired, body aches, constant head ache and somewhat nausiated.
Fever of 101.5 yesterday but today, no fever.
she has taken tylenol - one this morning and one this evening. shortly after taking a tylenol, she noticed a vein on the right side of her head was noticeably bulging - and that is our cause now for concern. Is this an emergency?

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:

1. The bulging veins in the forehead could be due to vein compression, possibly due to muscle spasm, maybe in the neck.

2. Mostly due to abnormal neck posture due to lying down position.

3. It should disappear, along with flu. If it persists, which is a low possibility after that and if any throbbing headache is present (Now it will be present due to flu), then further evaluation can be thought of.

4. Acute bulging veins, not to worry.
