Question: Hi i had clots and blood in urine last monday.. went to er and it was showing infection. Got Cipro...2 days went by and nothing changed so got appointment with urologist. Doing CT scan tomorrow. Had blood and clots through saturday and then sunday it was like a light switch went off and urine was absolutely clear. Going to do the CT scan and scope but just wondering if I should be worried about cancer much or not...41 years old, smoker so I know chances are there, but if it was showing infection and then bleeding stopped just like that, what would you think it would be?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.

Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

According to your hisotry and the way your symptoms progressed, in my opinion, You should not be worried about a cancer though, but it is recommended that you get the work up like cystoscopy and CT done.

In your age even if you are a smoker cancer is less likely, bladder cancers present with painless blood in urine but it is not usually this heavy that it ends up making clots, Your bleed may be because of other reasons like a bleeder in urinary tract or a bleeding growth polyp, a stone or something like an infection

Correct diagnosis will be made after CT scan and cystoscopy so I would suggest you not to panic just follow your doctor's instructions and see what the reports have to say.

It's great that the bleeding has stopped but still i would suggest you to follow this problem. I am quite positive that your tests will come up clean.

I hope this answered you question, a
if you have more please feel free to ask.

Regrads.
