Suggest Treatment For Bipolar Disorder And Depression While On Paxil And Klonopin

Question: Hi. I am 25 years old. Since I was a little girl I have been very different than other people. I had severe anxiety attacks growing up so bad that I was taking to heart and lung specialist... Nothing was ever found physically wrong with me. Finally desperate when I was seventeen years old I went to see a doctor who put me on depakote, Paxil, klonopin, geodone and a few others. I was diagnosed manic bipolar, depression, etc. some of the meds helped for a while but after I had a kid four years ago I had to change my meds cause I got super clinically depressed. I got on Prozac and for a while my life got better. I also took lithium at the time. Right now I'm only on Prozac. I have kinda fell off from visiting my doctor regularly and stuff cause well... I feel like it's a helpless situation... I do hear and see things from time to time and I am veeeeery paranoid constantly and have developed this ear worm that makes me wanna jump off a bridge. So yeah, I need help please!

Since you are also complaining about hearing and seeing things (possible visual/ auditory hallucination) along with anxiety, paranoia and mood symptoms, I would recommend starting antipsychotics like Geodon or Seroquel along with Prozac for effective control of symptoms. Antipsychotics like Geodon, Seroquel etc effectively treats hallucinations, stabilizes mood and treats paranoia too.
I would also advise limiting the use of benzodiazepines in your case, to prevent relapse.

Please be advised to follow up with a psychiatrist to see starting an antipsychotic is right for you.

Pshould i discontinue alcohol and marijuana use? I smoke everyday and sometimes it helps but sometimes it makes me hear more things. Its a hit or miss. And i do often drink, what would you reccommend? Is sobriety the best for these types of disorders. Im assuming that what i have is schitzoeffective disorder? But i'm not the doctor lol.

Defenitely sobreity is good for not only your mental heslth but also overall health. Drugs can aggrevate mood disorders and psychosis. Drugs also have negative impact on your overall health, social and economic well being.
I would recommend that you follow up with a Psychiatrist to start treatment with anti psychotics and also get necessary help to deal with drug and alcohol abuse.
