Suggest Treatment For Benign Reactive Lymphoid Hyperplasia

default
Posted on Mon, 3 Oct 2016
Question: In XXXXXXX of this year I went to my dentist with a concern of a couple of tongue colored bumps on the left side kind of right where my lingual tonsil is... after checking me out and doing a velscope test he reassured me that they were no concern. They were still there in September so I went to an oral surgeon who removed the area for biopsy about 3 weeks ago. My results came back as benign reactive lymphiod hyperplasia. The stitches have fallen out but now the bumps have returned and are worse than they were before. The oral surgeon has no explanantion for this and now I am very worried as to why the area has come back worse.

Brief Answer:
Can be multiple reasons..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain if you are diagnosed with Reactionary lymphoid tissue then can be due to causes like deficiencies of Iron and Vitamin B12, trauma caused by sharp edges of tooth, tongue bite, etc.

I would suggest you to get your teeth checked and also get sharp edges of teeth checked..

You should take Vitamin B complex supplements..
Do cool compresses over the bumps..
If there is tongue bite habit mouth guards can help..
If there is sharp edges of any teeth then coronoplasty or smoothening of the sharp edges can help..

Please let me know for further queries..

Hope this helps..

Regards..

Sorry... one last question.... I guess my main concern is this...
If my biopsy was benign 2 weeks ago should I be concerned that if the bumps came right back they would be something different than benign reactive lymphoid hyperplasia?
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Not necessarily..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome back..

If the bumps are back, it can be due to the same problem only and not necessarily serious like malignancy..

Please let me know if you have further queries..

Hope this helps..
