default
Posted on Mon, 31 Aug 2015
Question: Recently I moved into a new house. In my room There were bedbugs. Unfortunately in the room as beds are not available I am sleeping down on bedsheet on carpet. So During the night time these bedbugs are biting me. Every day by the time I wake up I am finding little pain/rash around legs hands and as well as some other places. My Questions are:--

1.) Are the bedbug bites Dangerous or if they are biting constantly every day will there be any problems in future ?
2.) Is there any way that I can prevent them biting me ?
3.) Do I need to apply any cream on the rash that is occured due to these bites ?

Brief Answer:
Get rid of them, antihistamine cream in case of itching.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to HCM.

The way to prevent them from biting is getting rid off them.Avoidance of infested areas, Sleeping with the lights on may help.Conventional insect and tick repellents are also not useful against bedbugs, so one should not try to avoid being bitten by using insect repellant at night.
Typically, no treatment is required for bedbug bites. If itching is severe or if an allergic reaction to the bites occurs, I would have prescribed you topical antihistamine cream like derma for local application three times daily.

Even though literature doesn't mention any serious problem, but I would not suggest constant biting by the bug.

Take care
