Suggest Treatment For Balanitis After Oral Sex

default
Posted on Fri, 25 Sep 2015
Question: I have just had sex (with a condom) and also received oral sex. My penis is looking like this (see attached). It's red at the visible top part of the gland. It doesn't particularly hurt and I have asked about this already but I just wanted to show you what it looks like more or less straight after. Can you tell me if this is normal? Both sex and oral sex wasn't particularly vigorous. I have applied some vaseline.

Brief Answer:
balanitis relieved by repeated washing with water and abstinence from sex.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.

You had protected vaginal sex. Oral sex carries low risk for HIV/STD.
The picture revealed that you are having a mild balanitis (inflammation of glans penis).
That may be due to excessive friction during oral sex. This could also due to some irritation like saliva. Yeast infection is unlikely as the tip portion is not inflamed and looks normal. It is not related to any STD. Keep washing regularly at least twice daily with plain water. While washing wash completely the glans, the sulcus and the inner aspect of foreskin after kept stretched.
You will be alright soon.
