Suggest Treatment For Bacterial Infection From Rat Droppings

default
Posted on Mon, 28 Sep 2015
Question: My home had rats in the attic, they were very large. This was a couple of years ago, problem was the Pest control didn't figure out why I had bites all over till my dermatologist took skin test. The results were bacterial infections from rat feces. Came from mites that got threw the vents.
Here I am 2 years later and taken too many medications that are dangerous and can't get rid of the ones in the scalp. They make webs which I have in little bags or bottles from my combs and body.
I have two beautiful grandchildren and always live in fear besides the itching that keeps me up all hours.

Brief Answer:
Source/ sanctuary of rodents should be eliminated

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Based on your contact history with rodents in general, i would recommend getting vaccinated for tetanus and rabies. Local Pest control / eradication authorities should be alerted to take care of the sanctuary that has been causing these problems. There is a definite danger to the children in the presence of such an environment. Topical antifungal and eczema treatment including a mild steroid in olive oil base can be advised. Permethrin aplication can also be advised. Antibiotics both local and systemic can be given to treat any secondary infections. Please consult a dermatologist in this regard.

Hope this helps

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
