Question: My 25 year old daughter threw out her back lifting a heavy object. She heard something snap and is in pain. She's been using a heating blanket and OTC pain killers. What else should she do?

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. You should take her to a doctor and get her evaluated. Slipped disc needs to be ruled out.

Try giving him juicy fruits like citrus fruits, and bananas. They contain potassium and should help in relaxation of the muscles. Also give hot compress through heating blanket and OTC pain killers.. The next step would be prescription muscle relaxants twice daily for 2-3 days. But I would not advocate delaying the visit to the ER.
