Last doctor prescribed protopic .1%. I have been on a course of anti fungal tablets. A single dose anti-fungal tab. Kenalog. Cortosone. It is very noticable and my lips are always dry with it. I am in the health and beauty industry and eat very well as I am very health consious. I am naturally thin. I do not have any dificiencies as my bloods came back clear. My iron level came back normal. I have it swabed and the swab came back clear. Any ideas?????

Brief Answer:
Kindly elaborate query and send pictures

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for "Angular cheilitis" problem.

In view to help you better I request you to kindly tell me certain important points:

- Is it present on one side or both the sides or one side of mouth.

- Since how long you are taking anti-fungal treatment. Please tell me the name of anti-fungal tablet and its dose you are taking.

- Do you feel any burning, itching or pain on these spots. If yes then is it mild/moderate/ severe.

- Did the samples for swab tests were taken in the morning as soon as you get up or later in the day.

Have you performed "Spit test" by your own. To tell you about the same:It is a simple home based test with your saliva. The best time to do this test is the first thing in the morning as soon as you wake up. Before you rinse, spit, or put anything in your mouth, go get a glass of water (in a clear glass). Now build up a bunch of saliva (just mouth saliva, do not cough up anything) and spit it into the glass of water.

Observe what happens. The saliva will float. That is quite normal.

Observe it after 10-15 minutes. If you see saliva still floating then is normal thing. If you see thin projections extending downward into the water, it is a positive sign for candida. The projections may look like hair, or small strings, like a jelly fish or spider legs, moving down into the water from the saliva floating on the top. Other positive indications might be very "cloudy" saliva that will sink to the bottom of the glass within a few minutes or particles that slowly sink or suspend below the saliva glob. You may also observe cloudy specks suspended in the water for positive candida.

Tell me about your observation.

In view to help you best I also request you to send good resolution pictures of mouth area (open and closed) so that I can analyze it better. For uploading the pictures you have a facility on the right side of the page or can send on:
