Posted on Fri, 30 Oct 2015
Question: Good evening doctor,
I am 50 years old and have allergic rhinitis. Allergic to dust, mould, windy weather, cold weather, moist(rainy) weather. My nose gets blocked when I sit under a full blast fan. Sometimes during winters I face breathlessness at night. Over the years I have taken ayurvedic treatment and homeopathic treatment and they have proved beneficial. But still not cured completely.

Brief Answer:
Allergic problems can't be cured completely.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Allergic problems like allergic rhinitis or breathlesness associated with it can't be cured permanently. The only solution is stay away from the allergens which is not completely possible everytime.

Taking Montek LC (monteleukast and levocetirizine) regularly is helpful in preventing such attacks.

When you are having acute attack inhaling corticosteroids like budesonide and short acting beta 2 agonist like formeterol will be helpful. Once it is under control yu can go on with taking montek LC daily.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
