default
Posted on Mon, 8 Dec 2014
Question: I was having cold last week and it came down to cough. For cold I took levocitrizine and sinarest. I am taking Ambrodil syrup from few days. When I cough phlegm comes but the quantity of phlegm has reduced to very tiny pieces. However after coughing very hard for 2mins I will be able to spit only a tiny piece of phlegm. I have allergic bronchitis and the inhaler dose has been tapered down. Currently I am using Foracort 100 two times a day i.e morning and night.

Brief Answer:
You are having allergic rhinitis with PND.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for the query.

I have read your query, reviewed your medication and understand your concern.

As per your clinical history it appears that you are having allergic rhinitis with post nasal discharge (PND).

If I were your treating Doctor for this case, I would advice you
Steam Inhalation twice daily with steam vaporizer,
Saline nasal spray thrice daily like Solspre,
Plenty of fluids,
Antihistaminic levocetirizine + Montelukast combination at night like Tab Montek LC or Romilast L 10 & Antibiotic azithromycin 500mg for 7 days.

These are prescription medications and require a prescription from a local doctor.

You will get relief .

Continue inhaler.

Hope this information helpful to you. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Regards.
