Suggest Treatment For Adenocarcinoma Tumors In Lymph Nodes

default
Posted on Fri, 20 Jun 2014
Question: I have adenocarcinoma tumors in lymph nodes throughout my body. As of yet the organ of origin has not been found (after 2 months of tests). My doctor said that surgical removal of the lymph nodes or radiation would not benefit me. He plans chemo treatment after primary cancer is found. Is that standard practice or should I seek a second opinion? I am beginning to have severe pain in groin area and down my right leg.

Brief Answer:
Chemo is the best choice.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

This is a standard practice. Please note that lymph nodes are located in multiply areas. It is impossible to remove all of them. It is also impossible to remove all affected by cancer. Chemo is the only thing which can reach every part of the body including every lymph node. So it is good idea to do it and radiation or surgery wont help indeed.
I assume that you have had colonoscopy, gastroscopy, chest and abdominal CT. Please ask your doctor about PET test. Maybe it will help to identify the source of cancer.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
