Brief Answer:
You need to take analgesics for acute gout attack.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Gout is treated prophylatically with tab. feburic. I hope you have confirmed the diagnosis by an orthopedician and you have been prescribed the medicine.

In acute phase you have to take analgesics and anti-inflammatories , apply cold pack to the area to reduce the inflammation. It lasts for 3 to 10 days.

Follow these home remedies:

- Tab. Ibuprofen twice daily for 3 days after food and later take as and when required.

- Drink plenty of water so that gout crystals are flushed out.

- Avoid alcohol.

- Elevate your foot.

- Deep breathing exercises help relieve stress. As stress can aggravate gout.

- Avoid high purine diet such as red meat, shellfish, sweetbreads and gravies.

In case your symptoms persist or worsens it is best to meet your treating orthopedician for further treatment.

I hope this answered your query.
